Pleased to announce the launch of a sister website with some of my favourite exclusive items
Dedicatated to the preservation of fine, exceptional Japanese swords and fittings whilst safeguarding these treasures for future generations.
Average items will always be average, but exceptional will always be desired and cherished.
My name is Ian Chapman and I am a collector of Japanese fine art.
Always wanted Japanese swords and fittings, so please feel free to contact me.
Japanese antiques have been my passion for over 20 years and I make regular trips to Japan to further my knowledge. When I first started learning about Japanese antiques the reference books available were mostly written in Japanese, with only a few English books available. Thankfully, books in English are now far more readily available, thanks to some excellent translators.
My main objective in setting up this website is to enable other like-minded Japanese enthusiasts to enhance their own collections from a reliable, trustworthy source. I'm a strong believer in not messing about, or changing things from original, and only having restoration work done by a Japanese trained professional if absolutely necessary.
In 2002 I started Iaido and in 2006 I went to Japan to enhance my skills, including Tameshigiri. I now instruct at Kokoro dojo in Sussex.
